Choosing to become a better, more evolved, version of you takes a lot of guts. It requires self-relisation that perhaps the decisions you have made in the past did not serve you. Instead of expanding your dreams and desires, you were (until now) left constricted from life.
Its never easy to pause, take in your surroundings and look at your truths, especially when they are ugly. Yet, with this understanding of requiring more passion, hunger and desire we can be assured that our future will be brighter and we can still live the life our soul has always longed for.
Evolution is certainly not a road less taken. Many of you, myself included, have embarked on a long journey of rediscovery of who you are and who you had always intended to be. By expanding your knowledge and spirituality you open yourself to a universe so abundant, so rich, so exciting that turning back to your old ways seems almost poisonous. However, our past will always, to some level, be there. Whether its haunting, luring or even desired, the old ways and old people have a knack for drawing us back..
One step forward, two steps backwards.
The question then asked is: What do you do when your friends and family don’t follow your growth?
Having the ability to be conscious of your faults, choosing to put your health first or finding a deep connection with a higher level of awareness and self-preservation becomes not only soul-feeding for yourself, but also those around you. If your close relations have difficulty relating to your new perspective on life, it is always a sign of their own insecurities and self-judgement. It is never a reason to doubt your new beginning of enlightenment, purely on the basis that some of your network are just not ready in themselves to move forward.
This being said, if what you expect from others is not offered by you in return, than your relation, no matter how strong at one point, will not stand your new pathway. Expectation of support, without the same in reverse is somewhat counterintuitive of a person who deems themselves someone of spirituality and love.
You can’t get, without give
When you lack support and understanding from others, try to offer a solution for the both of you and your stages. Often, we fight to stay and fight even harder to let go. Loving someone, does not mean that they have to play a role in your story from beginning to end. Most are sent to us as a lesson, passing through as servants of our universe, teaching each one of us along the way.
Perhaps it is time to either let go or bring them on the journey with you. Both of which will serve you and your new found journey of love, evolution and yearning to do more, see more, be more.
